Daylight gives birth to Bellissimo M Filly!

Picture
Briana's retired international Young rider mare 'Daylight' has given birth to a Bellissimo M Filly during the day of Tuesday 29th of May! Daylight is now 17 years old and lives with Manuela Nitschke on a farm in Bielefeld, Germany.  Daylight is by the Stallion Don Ramiro who himself is an offspring of super sire Don Primero-Donnerhall. Daylights mother line is from the influential Dutch line of Salute (Saluut).  Daylight was a member of State and National Australian squads every year from 2003 until 2009. Daylight was a winner and place getter on State, National and International shows. Daylight and Briana were winners of CDI-Y Toowoomba and Reserve combination in 2007 for the World Young rider championships in Frankfurt. Daylight and Briana competed together in Australia, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg and Germany. Daylight was 7th place in the Big final in CDI-Y Bonn in 2008 and competed in CDI**** Wiesbaden in 2009.

Another Successful weekend at Turnier Mettingen!

Picture
The weekend of the 25-27 th of May 2012 saw the National show of ZRFV Mettingen, where some of the strongest competitors of Westfalia and Weser-Ems come together for 4 days of Dressage competition.
On Friday the 25th I rode Ralf and Elke Sluschnys horse 'Capriano SL' in the 4 year old class. This was the second outing for 'Cappi'. He put in a very good performace scoring 8.5 for trot, 8,0 for canter, however unfortunatly the operation of heavy machinery next door began at the time of the walk tour causing a disruption to all the horses in our class, earning all the horse low scores in walk. However a wonderful performance and very happy with young 'Cappi'. Capriano SL will show again at the show of Damme -Sprehe Feinkost.

Next to go on Sunday was Bradgate Park Rothenfeldt in his Medium class. The very hot conditions were not ideal however "Barchi" put in a solid performance for a 68,00 % and 6th place, receiving praise from judges and spectators alike.. for more photos  from Mettingen go to the Gallery.

Successful Weekend at Fruhjahrsturnier Rulle!

Picture
The weekend of 18th-21st May was the Annual competition from Reit und Fahrverein Rulle. A great show where Jumping and Dressage horses come to battle it out for 3 days of competition! We were very successful on this show. My Damon Hill, Dalaran, had his first outing, Dalaran impressed with his big movements and eye-catching appearance, however Dalaran was a little afraid of the white fencing going around the competition arena. Some more show experience and there will be no stopping this one!

Next to go was my clients horse, Capriano, owned  by Ralf and Elke Sluschny. Whats special about Capriano is that he was also bred by his owners. This was Capriano's first show and he put in a wonderful performance in the Reitpferde Prufung, (Young horse class for 3-4 year olds) to earn 3rd place with 7,8! Capriano will go on to compete in the Bundeschampionate qualification rounds for 4 year old horses.

The next cab off the rank was Bradgate Park Rothenfeldt, bred by John and Bev Healey of Orange, New South Wales, AUS. Rothenfeldt is not only a wonderful horse but he is extra special as we bought him as a 2 year old colt and we have had him ever since. Now 7 I have trained him myself here in Germany. BP Rothenfeldt put in a very good performance, impressing the judges who awarded him with a 78,00% and first place!!
Overall a very successful show and we are off again this week on Friday to Turnier Mettingen to do it all over again!

Sugar Boy 11 successful at Aachen!

Picture

From the 9th to the 11th of April I attended the Aachen Dressage competition 'Late Entry', a fantastic event held at the wonderful facilities of Aachen CHIO. This was our first outdoor show for the season, with Suga Boy 11 putting in an excellent performance on Wednesday the 11th in the PSG competition scoring a very solid 67.19% and coming in 3rd place, only 1% behind the winner Mattias Bouten. This was a great warm up show before Hagen 'Horses and Dreams'. We received a lot of very positive feedback from spectators and the judging panel, so now we have a few steady days before building up again for Hagen.
It was also a very pleasant surprise to meet two fellow Aussies, Melissa Alexander and her friend Kim who were visiting the show at Aachen. I would like to thank both ladies for helping myself and Suga Boy for very kindly taking boots, blankets, whips and horse holding and walking duties before presentation, (as my trainer wasn't able to stay for the Wednesday show) Thank you again, your support was very much appreciated by Suga Boy and I and it was great to have some Aussie support! Photos will be up soon of Suga Boy 11 from Aachen.
